A Community Facility Empowered by Energy Reform
The Freedom Centre sought a strategy to reduce its energy use, improve operational sustainability, and reinvest savings back into the local community. C3 Group developed a tailored Heat Decarbonisation Plan, enabling the Centre to successfully secure grant funding for targeted efficiency upgrades.
What We Did
Designing an Efficient, Fundable Energy Solution
The plan focused on low-carbon technologies with strong return on investment and minimal disruption to day-to-day operations. Once funded, the Freedom Centre implemented two key interventions:
Scope of Work:
- Solar PV installation to reduce reliance on grid-supplied electricity
- Full LED lighting upgrade across the facility
These improvements now generate £27,784 in annual energy cost savings and deliver a carbon reduction of 29.44 tonnes per year.
