They offer a turnkey service, end-to-end building decarbonisation services, working closely with their sister company. The are a leading organisation in developing district heating schemes across the UK, with innovations in battery storage and low carbon heat solutions. They work in partnership with their clients to reduce energy costs and emissions while helping them achieve their net zero targets. Key Duties
We are seeking a mechanical building services designer to join our client’s team. The preferred candidate will need to have prior expertise in the M&E Building Services sector and an interest in specialising in sustainable building services engineering with a focus on low-energy solutions. The selected candidate will collaborate with the rest of the team to create:
- Technical designs of sustainable building services engineering, including renewable technologies, energy efficiency measures such as ASHP, GSHPs, traditional HVAC, and district heating networks on a large scale.
- Produce all mechanical calculations design packs to substantiate project scope.
- Create technical literature to support project design stages.
- Work in collaboration with the electrical team in the mechanical design and control philosophy of district heating networks, to energise low carbon heat through low carbon electrical solutions such as solar farms, and battery storage systems.
- Create 3D Revit model designs as required for building services.
- Low carbon energy strategies – measure and manage emissions, inform carbon reduction strategies, and align targets for the future.
- Economic analysis – evaluate the economic viability of energy efficiency measures.
Requirements
- Relevant engineering qualification (e.g. degree, HND).
- Previous experience in the M&E Building Services industry.
- Strong technical background in sustainable building services engineering.
- Familiarity with low carbon energy strategies advantageous.
- Ability to produce technical calculation packs for mechanical systems and equipment sizings.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to analyse and interpret data to support decision making.
